I recently acquired a netbook to play with, and I want to install Kali Linux so I can start learning about network security and exploit development. I want to use this to learn as much about security as I can.
What is the best way to partition a linux box so that it is most resistent to a security risk? Is a single partition containing all of the folders in linux really that bad?
Extra points if you can go into details about the threats possible. I want to learn as much as possible.
